To relate to your dog, you need to enter into the instinctual world of your dog. By doing this, you achieve a better understanding of your ‘best friend’, which gives you both a better quality of life together.
Dogrelate teaches you to understand and respond to your dog’s behavior. You become your dog’s ‘sanctuary’. The social bond you create with your furry friend makes your dog feel safe, social and confident in his environment.
Dogrelate shows you how to teach your dog rules, boundaries & limitations and so that he becomes a physically & mentally balanced dog. A calm dog is a happy dog who behaves socially towards other people & dogs.
Dogrelate are experts in understanding dogs' behavior and the underlying causes of how they react. With each dog we rehabilitate, we start by looking for the warning signs of unwanted behaviour such as excitement, restlessness, anxiety or aggression caused by stress, over- or under stimulation. We find the root cause of the problematic behaviour and then rehabilitate the dog back into his natural state. We show you how to start and maintain a balanced and healthy relationship.
Dogrelate’s founder and certified dog behavior therapist, Ulrike has worked with one of the World’s leading dog behavioural experts, ‘The Dog Whisperer’ Cesar Millan. Her expertise and understanding of dogs makes you and your dogs' experience atDogrelate a rewarding one.
Starting your relationship with your puppy early on with the correct training will create a strong and lasting relationship of good behaviour and respect towards you, other dogs and other people.
Dogrelate begins each behavioural consultancy with an initial 2-hour ‘meet and greet’ session at your home. The purpose of this first session is to assess your dog’s natural mental state and behaviour in his own environment.
We start work immediately with your dog during this assessment and inspire you with some best practices to follow until the next training session.
You will already see an improvement in your dog’s behavior and many questions about your dog will be answered.
Dogrelate generally advises our highly successful 10 hour ‘Bootcamp training’ session. This set of training consists of 10 x 60 minutes sessions with you and your dog. Single trainings of 60 or 90 minutes are available too.
Mastering the walk is fundamental in building a respectful and trusting partnership with your dog. This means walking side-by-side, with no pulling on the leash and learning how to deal with distractions. Pack walks with a group of dogs highlight the benefits of dog relationships, based on their natural social structure, and are highly therapeutic for both dogs and people. The Bootcamp series creates a balanced atmosphere so that your dog can only bark ‘home sweet home’!
He’s your best buddy, but sometimes his behaviour lets not just you down, but himself down too! Every time the doorbell rings, he goes beserk, barking like crazy, and instead of greeting your guest, you’re trying to calm down the dog. Your dog may be your best friend, but he won’t be to your visitors!
When you’re out walking with your dog, you want to be able to walk gently, with your dog at your side. But no! He is dragging you along, choking himself with his own strength on the lead. Are you walking your dog or is he walking you?
Do you want to play ball without it turning into a frantic wrestling match trying to retrieve the ball from your ball obsessed dog? Does he understand when stop means stop?
You love cuddling with your dog on the sofa but what if he extends this invitation to your most personal space, your bed? As much as you love him, you don’t want to have paw prints or pests from the forest on your white bed sheets. You want your dog to sleep in his own bed, instead of him insisting on claiming your bed as his own.
You find yourself in a dark tunnel as your dog is having a challenging impact on your life. Walking your dog on the leash frightens you due to his aggressive behavior. You have to make arrangements for a ‘dog sitter’ every time you want to leave your house, as your dog can’t stay alone. You are embarrassed about the urine smell that penetrates your house. Giving food means evacuating the rest of the family or other pets due to your dog’s food aggression. There is a war zone atmosphere in your living room, caused by attacks on other family dog pack members.
Dogrelate uses tools such as basic signals, impulse control, proximity training and analyses your dogs natural social pack position, in order to get your dog to behave in a socially friendly way. One behaviour issue can have several root causes. We identify them and treat them in a holistic way. This includes all aspects of the dog’s needs including a psychological, physical and social treatment.
Dogrelate’s approach to rehabilitating your dog not only resolves his behavioural issues, but also trains you to relate to your dog in the appropriate manner, making your dog aware of his limits and boundaries and how to share affection.
Next time your doorbell rings, your dog will let you know with a short bark that there is someone there because he relishes being your natural guardian. When your visitors enter your house, your dog will welcome them in a friendly non-hostile manner
Dogrelate gives you the perfect starting help for your relationship with your puppy.
With our personalised training, we help create a strong and lasting relationship between you and your puppy. We build the foundation of good behaviour and respect towards you, other dogs and other people.
All puppies are adorable from day one! They steal our hearts from the first moment, and make our minds turn to soft mush. But on top of the love and protection you give your new family member, you also need to set up boundaries from the beginning, so that the puppy grows up with consistent rules and clear guidance. This will create a harmonious relationship supporting the youngster through his rocky adolescence and helping him grow into a mature adult. Puppy training is not just about learning the basic signals like "come back" and "sit", but builds the foundation for friendly social behavior.
Dogrelate offers a holistic approach, which creates a strong understanding between you and your young dog.
We want to make sure that you and your puppy start off on the right foot. So we also give you nutritional advice on the best type of food, the best harness or collar for your puppy, and what bed they should have! We teach you how to brush the puppy’s teeth to avoid future dental treatments.
With this best possible start, we won’t be seeing you and your dog for Bootcamp any time soon!
Dogrelate offers professional advice to help you find the right match, which is crucial for a life fulfilling relationship with your new dog. Many future behavioural issues can be avoided by seeking advice before selecting a dog.

Every being is born with a unique talent. If you find it and live it, you will enjoy a fulfilled and balanced life.
Dogs helped me to find out what my talent is: to inspire others with my personal growth.
My goal is to help dogs gain the respect they deserve and live in a harmonious relationship with people. I believe we need to see these animals as dignified beings, not machines that must obey to our will, but companions who follow our assertive guidance within a mutually trusting relationship.
When we learn to readjust the unrealistic expectations we have of our dogs and tune into their instincts by relating to them, we let THEM bring the best out of us. My admiration and my talent for dogs developed early during my childhood, which I spent in the mountains at the lake Tegernsee in Bavaria (South Germany). My father’s project to preserve the lives of the last free-living bears & wolves helped develop my passion for dogs and my first book was ‘The Wolf’ by Eric Ziemen.
Growing up I then followed a completely different talent and became an international fashion buyer and product manager in the corporate Sports & Fashion industry.
However in 2012, my life challenged me in the most extreme way possible. After receiving a life threatening Cancer diagnosis, I went through a bleak winter season in my life. Thankfully I recovered and an enlightening Spring season encouraged me to follow my heart: I left my career as a manager and became a dog Behavior Therapist.
After finishing my certified study at the German Institut für Tierheilkunde in 2013, I went to Los Angeles for a life changing experience as a student at Cesar Millan´s Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita. With Cesar as my mentor, I learned how to accept challenge and to grow from it, personally and in my work with dogs.
Since then I help people and their dogs face the daily challenges in their lives. I inspire them and prove that it is never too late to relate to their dogs in a new way. This helps them grow on a personal level and start living the life that they have always wanted!
